Starting Salary: £38,220 progressing to £41,771 per annum 
Weekly Hours: 37

About the team

HCC SfYP is the primary provider of youth work; careers, education information, advice and  guidance, work related learning and work experience to young people across Hertfordshire. The Service provides a wide range of careers and work related support, predominantly for young people aged 13-19 (up to 25 if they have learning difficulties or disabilities) to make sure that the needs of young people are met so that they are able and motivated to remain in or return to education, training or work and achieve their full potential.

 About the role 

To ensure that the needs of all clients are met, so that they are able and motivated to engage in education, training, work opportunities and constructive activities that lead to successful transitions and positive destination outcomes.

You will have previous experience of working intensively with young people with a range of needs and backgrounds.

You will need to have a relevant qualification such as: Diploma in Careers Guidance parts 1 and 2; QCG and or Level 6 in Advice and Guidance and evidence of relevant continuing professional development and the ability to put learning into practice. 

Having the ability to be flexible, to multi -task and to work independently within dynamic and evolving teams you will both deliver CEIAG in 1 to 1 and groups, work with NEET young people to move them into EET.  You will performance manage staff and lead on local projects, alongside supporting the Practice Manager, Service Manager and wider Service.

About you 

Essential: 

  • Legal rights to work in the UK.
  • Driving licence and access to a vehicle. 
  • Excellent organisation and administrative skills with good attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to performance manage a team to a high standard
  • Able to understand the barriers that young people face 
  • To be able to work to and achieve targets 
  • To understand the needs of the young people, and service delivery 
  • Good ICT Skills
