Job Title: Hertfordshire Safeguarding Adult Board Senior Support Officer
Starting Salary: £38,220 progressing to £41,771 per annum (pro rata for part time)
Hours: 22.2
Location: Countywide (Travel will be required)
Contract Type: Fixed Term until June 2028

About the team
This is an exciting opportunity for an experience Support Officer to join our business unit which plays a key role in safeguarding adults by supporting the multi-agency safeguarding arrangements in Hertfordshire. We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and organised person, who can ensure high levels of support to the Business Manager. You will be joining a friendly, dedicated and inclusive team.
About the role
You will work alongside the current senior support officer reporting to the business manager. You will be supporting delivery of key functions of the board including work of the subgroups, training, quality assurance activity, implementing finding from safeguarding adult reviews etc. A key function of this role will be to support multi-agency meetings including setting up meetings, collating and distributing agendas, taking minutes and developing action plans.
Business Support:
- Coordinating the implementation of action plans
- Coordinate the implementation of task and finish groups and associated business functions
- Supporting the work of safeguarding adult reviews (SARS) as required
Quality Assurance:
Supporting with:
- The implementation of a programme of audits
- Organisational self-assessment
- The update of policies, procedures and guidance
- The collection of data
Learning and Development
- Supporting the expansion of the Hertfordshire Safeguarding Adult Board training offer and learning opportunities including the annual conference.
- Support with the evaluation and measuring the impact of training and learning.
Communications & Engagement
- Supporting with the implementation of the HSAB communication strategy which includes website development.
Essential
What we’re looking for:
- Ability to organise meetings, accurate minute taking at both face-to-face and online meetings, creating and following up action trackers
- Excellent IT skills including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Teams and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks confidently and independently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused under pressure
- Ability to work with a range of stakeholders
- Someone who is dynamic and adaptable, with the ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Someone who works well in a small, supportive team
- Excellent accurate record-keeping and strong attention to detail

Experience of:
- Working in services for adults with care and support needs
- Safeguarding work
- Multi-agency working
- Working with senior leaders
- Quality assurance and working within the learning and development sector
