About the team
- The Facilities Management team keep our operational accommodation clean, safe and working efficiently; making sure that it is maintained in the optimum condition within available budgets in order HCC staff can deliver their services
- This role report to the Technical Supervisor - Stevenage
- This role can see the postholder liaising with any users of the buildings including staff from all Directorates, members so the public, contractors and sub-contractors.
About the role
You will support the Technical Supervisor with:
- The delivery of building / plant planned servicing, testing and checks at a number of sites
- Dealing with breakdowns and reactive maintenance at a number of sites
- Deliver work in line with all relevant health and safety legislation
- Deliver targets on time
- Liaising with contractors and sub-contractors undertaking work at sites you look after
- You will work closely with FM colleagues to share and document all required data in relation to all work the team undertake.
About you
Essential:
- Ability to drive in order to deliver services at multiple locations
- Experience in mechanical, electrical or plumbing / heating
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Hold or working towards IOSH Working or Managing Safely and a good understanding of H&S legislation and codes of practice
- An understanding of property management issues
- Ability to understand O&M manuals, technical drawings, manufacturers literature
Desirable:
- Good communication skills
- IT literate and ability to use CAFM and other M&E based systems
- Understanding of H&S related paperwork including SSoW, RAMS, PTW, COSHH, Hot Works
- Knowledge of testing and inspection equipment, hand tools, electrical tools
This is an interactive and rewarding role working with the wider FM team to deliver services that have a positive impact on the work of HCC staff, allowing them to deliver their services in safe and well maintained facilities.
