Starting Salary: £53,806 + £8,560 market enhancement progressing to £59,497 + £8,607 market enhancement per annum

About the team
Assessment is a dedicated team within Hertfordshire Children’s Services, committed to safeguarding and supporting vulnerable children and families, playing a crucial role in assessing children’s needs and ensuring timely interventions.
About the role
As a Team Manager, you will lead and inspire a team of social workers and support staff. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the assessment process for children and families, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
- Leadership: Provide effective and visible leadership, motivating and empowering staff.
- Assessment: Oversee the assessment of children’s needs, risk, and family circumstances.
- Supervision: Regularly supervise and appraise social workers to ensure effective service delivery.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other teams, agencies, and partners to achieve positive outcomes.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
About you
Essential:
- Qualified in Social Work and registered with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in children’s services, including assessment work.
- Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to react in a timely way in dealing with and processing safeguarding contacts.
- Previous management experience.
- Driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.

- Experience of analysing data
