About the team
East and North Herts Older Peoples Team are seeking a Team Manager on a permanent contract. Demonstrating excellent leadership skills and front line management experience, you will be responsible for empowering and supporting our staff to deliver excellent professional practice leading to positive outcomes for people in Hertfordshire
About the role
As Team Manager, you’ll lead and inspire the team, ensuring high-quality practice, strong performance, and effective use of resources. You’ll oversee complex cases, safeguarding vulnerable adults, and drive initiatives that promote independence, early intervention, and community inclusion. This is a leadership role where you’ll shape practice, mentor staff, and influence positive outcomes for service users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and develop a multi-disciplinary team to deliver excellent services.
- Ensure compliance with legislation (Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act).
- Oversee safeguarding investigations and risk management.
- Promote independence, wellbeing, and early intervention through creative, person-centred solutions.
- Manage budgets, resources, and performance effectively.
- Build strong partnerships with agencies, communities, and carers.
- Drive continuous improvement and workforce development.
About you
Essential Criteria:
- A registered Qualified Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with evidence of continued professional development.
- Proven leadership experience in health or social care settings.
- Strong knowledge of adult social care legislation and safeguarding.
- Experience managing budgets, resources, and staff performance.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and partnership-building skills.
